Dave Simpson is a Salford born professional playwright. He has over 25 years experience in the industry and is now living and working in Todmorden.

Dave's current production 'The Naked Truth' is now on its third UK tour following it's massive success last year. It finishes the first week of July 2008 but another tour is planned from March 2009.

His latest project, a play entitled 'The-eXtra Factor', a musical comedy which takes a cynical look at reality shows like X-Factor and Big Brother is due to start rehearsal in August and tours for 12 weeks from September 1st, with a further tour planned for January 2009. In the summer months Dave keeps busy by running a writing course in Turkey - 'Write On Holiday' - along with his partner Diane Whitley who is also a writer and successful television producer.

His most successful productions include Girls Night Out and Raving Beauties. He was also on the writing team at Emmerdale for four years.
